Nov. 2010 my life

November 1st was Susan's Birthday. Arlene invited me to go with her to Rexburg for lunch at Gringo's.  Of course I jumped at the idea of getting out and spending time with the  nieces and nephews. Mandy came with Denese.  Stewart and Josh and Holly came also and we had such a nice Mexican style meal and good conversation.  Of course Brent had his sense of humor turned on so there were laughs a plenty.  Arlene dropped me off here at my door and it was so nice to be with her for the ride up there and back.
Then as you all remember Tuesday   2nd was voting day and I took my self over to do my duty.  I didn't know all the poll workers this time as has been the norm before.  I took my I.D. and showed it twice and guess what they let me vote.
The 3rd was Weds. an since our new R.S. presidency changed TLC  from Tues. to Weds. I went with Thirsa enjoyed the session and the lunch after and  visiting with the sisters.  I sorta have a standing Thursday hair appointment and Thirsa was getting hers cut the same day and our friend and ward member Marilyn Harris told Thirsa to pick me up and she would do us both at the same time it worked out well.
J'Lene came over on the 13th to care for Noah's children while they took a daughter to Boise for a sports thing she was in.  I drove up to see her and visit a few minutes.  She had promised the grands she would take them to a movie so I came back home but first made her promise she would come back and stay with me the week end Noah blessed his baby.  She promised and did keep that promise.
On the tenth Jeannette, Melba and I had our lunch date.  We had thought about going to Big Jake's up by Rexburg but it had started an unending snow that won't  stop for very long .   I discouraged Jeannette and she told Melba who was happy to not ride that far as she was having back problems.  We didn't play scrabble because of Melba's back.  We came home and Jeannette picked me up for the ward dinner.  We used to have baked spuds for this one but since we got a new high priest group leader we was pleasantly surprised with pulled pork sandwiches.  I've been wanting another ever since. It was a good time that day.
J'Lene called me said she would be late getting here so I told her to come anyway and she stayed over night on the12th.  Since it was late we didn't go out to eat but I took her to breakfast Sat. a.m..  She tried to contact Judy but no answer from her so didn't see Judy. J'Lene left for Rexburg to spend time with her children and attend the baby blessing on Sunday.  I did so enjoy having her here
Besides snow and icy roads what else is there this month??  On the 18th Thirsa and Steve had their family Thanksgiving dinner and I was invited to that.  Steve's brother and sister &brother in law and their son. Thirsa's brother and sister in law and Shareffa and her Steve and two children came. They picked up Clayton in Pocatello and it was good to be with their family. Thirsa tells me I'm part of her family anyway.  She feels like I have taken her mothers place  a little bit.  How blessed we were to have such good neighbors and friends.  We could have searched the city over and not found kinder people to live by when we moved here.
Sunday 21st Chris Richards had ask me to help with her lesson and gave me a part to read and said I could add a little bit to it.  Since mine was about learning the scriptures I told them about dad having a 5th grade education and mom having an 8th grade education and both knew their scriptures well. Others took more time but I felt I did  alright.
One more thing called for before the end of the year was tithing settlement and our bishop wanted to get it over early.  The executive secretary  had the older folks choose a time  for Sunday 28th and I went at 11.10 for mine. It is always good to be able to say I hope I've paid a full tithe there was a time in my life when that didn't happen but I think since Verelan and I  decided the gospel was what we wanted and needed we could both say we did our best.
For the ending of November on the evening of the 30th the bishop and the young people in our ward put on a special dinner for the adult singles.  They did a fabulous job and fed us well.  Ham baked potato green beans salad rolls and dessert with H2O to drink.  The bishop ask each of us to tell about where we grew up and some things that would give the young folks things to think about and learn from  the things we grew up with out.  I for got to tell them about the pot belly stoves in the school and church but they seemed interested in what we said.  They all laughed when I told them about our school Christmas plays and that when I was in 8th grade I got to be Santa Clause.
Well how do you access my blog now and how do I recover my old one???  For tonite this is all.
